Remember how the other day is said that I went to a Secret Place for a Secret Project that I'd hopefully be able to elaborate on soon?
I can elaborate now.
I have a job.
Let me say that again, just for fun,
I HAVE A JOB!!!!!!!
When I got the phone call, I cried. Literally. I've been unemployed for over a year now, with the exception of a few temp jobs, and Rei has been carrying the weight of, well, just about everything for that entire time. And now, starting othis Monday, I have steady employment again and we can start really living again. Paying off debt. Moving to a place where the floors don't slant and the ceilings don't leak. Being able to go grocery shopping without worrying about going over budget of $72 every two weeks.
Can you see the reason for the tears?
The reason I kept this secret, even down to not telling people about the interview, is because with the terrible luck I've been having, I was starting to take seriously that someone might be sending negative vibes my way. I have my suspicions as to who. The very same person who practically made it a point to apply for every job she knew that I applied for, even though she has a steady job and more money than she needs. Whether or not she did it on purpose, I don't know, but I wasn't taking any chances. I told nobody.
I went to the interview. I waited for them to do my background check. I co-operated when the original documents I gave them weren't quite enough for the check and I needed to bring in something else. Cass knew, as of yesteray, but nobody else did. (Possibly the people I listed as my references, but they didn't mention getting calls about me, and they usually do...) And today, the call came in and I was told that I start on Monday.
It will mean some ungodly early starts for two weeks, but this place offers min wage for training, and $11 an hour once I hit the floor. And medical benefits, which I sorely need!
I can't begin to properly express how happy I am about this. I feel like dancing, crying, singing, going out into the street and hugging the first random stranger I find!
I'm so freaking happy! :D
