I just went to check Alberta's labour laws and damn, we're getting close to being the lowest minimum wage province again. *Mutters about Alberta being made of logic errors*

Although, our overtime is 1.5 times the employee's regular pay rate, not 1.5 times minimum wage, so at least we're getting that part right. Also, they don't define "day" either way, so it's unclear what they mean, but the way the rest of the section is worded (you can work more than 6 consecutive days, but you have to be given a number of consecutive days off per 6 consecutive days worked... for example, it's legal in Alberta to work 24 consecutive days, provided that after that you get at least 4 consecutive days off), it seems they mean calendar days. Although as in my above example, it's still a little sketchy.

I have no idea how the equal pay for similar work law works, it hangs out over in human rights, not in employment standards, so...

I don't know what the point of this comment was, maybe just comparing provincial legislations. Also, sucky employers are sucky, and minimum wage that isn't livable also sucks.
