Daily recap.
Sep. 13th, 2010 07:12 pmSometimes I wonder if anybody but me ever reads these things, me rambling about the more mundane aspects of my life. Not that it'll stop me from writing them. Sometimes I want to remember, or sometimes it's just nice to look at what I did today and feel a sense of accomplishment.
Not that there was much done today to feel accomplished about. I did a lot of walking, though, or at least more than I normally do. Walked to the north end plaza and back twice, and my pedometre tells me that was almost 8000 steps. Considering I've been averaging about 5000 steps a day this past week, doing that much walking felt really good.
Plus the air's just the right kind of chilly to feel refreshing when I'm warming up from exercise but not so cold that it bothers my lungs and makes walking a painful chore.
The downside is that while relaxing on some grass nearby after the walk, my hands must have touched something unpleasant because I now have an itchy stingy rash along the sides of them. Thankfully, we have hydrocortisone cream in the medicine cabinet, which is helping.
Garbage day is tomorrow, which means I get to clean out the fridge and cupboards tonight because I won't be up early enough tomorrow to do it then. Not a problem, but it's annoying to do when I'd rather be doing other things.
Going to cook up the package of sausages that's in the fridge, though, before bed. They're not going to last much longer uncooked, and theyre good to grab for small snacks when we're hungry but don't feel like doing too much. I'll try to keep a few back for the beans that I plan on making for supper this Thursday. So long as I can remember to go buy more beans and tomato soup this Wednesday after going to the gym, that is.
Which reminds me, I'll have to remind myself to take along a resume then because there's a place nearby to the gym that's hiring, for good hours and decent pay. I'm not hugely keen on working retail, but I'll take anything over the nothing I have right now.
Stores are starting to get out their Christmas stuff already. Aside from the commercialism and money-grubbing that's behind that move, it reminds me that I ought to get started on at least planning Christmas and Yule gifts for people. I have a few Amazon.ca gift certificates saved up, which will help, and I finally topped $100 from AdSense, so they'll be sending me a cheque that should clear around mid-November, which will help even more. But that's for Christmas stuff. For Yule stuff, for close friends and for Rei, I like doing more handmade stuff, more personalized gifts that come from the heart and the hands and that require me to put more effort into than just spending some money at a store. And that stuff takes time, and that's running out.
Especially when you consider that NaNo is going to take up a month of the three months that are left between now and then.
At least most of what I want to do can be done while staying at home, which means I don't have to wear myself down to nothing in order to get it all done. Sometimes having health problems seriously sucks. I mean, I know I don't have things as bad as some people do, but I've got enough that I have to keep a check on things. Count my spoons, so to speak, even if I do get more spoons than others.
