Fortunately, the tail end of Hurrican Earl isn't scheduled to really hit us until tonight, if it really hits us at all. It's raining today, though, and there's more of a breeze than there has been in the past week, but that isn't stopping the energy-sapping humidity at all. Once more, the humidex is over 30 degrees Celcius before noon. This past week has broken local temperature records.

But still I braved the rain this morning in order to visit the Middle Eastern food stall at City Market, so that I could pick up some tabouleh and hummus and some awesome thick seedy bread that they make which I don't know the name of, and some Romaine lettuce to eat with the tabouleh. I may have made my cold a little worse by standing in the rain, but I think for tabouleh, it's worth it!

At least it's cool enough inside once more that I can have a cup of tea without overheating for hours. It's not like I'm entirely without my comforts.

I'm almost finished reading Ilsa Bick's Draw the Dark, which, if you can ignore the initial overuse of ellipses and "writing as one talks," is a really enjoyable book. Should finish reading it today and the review will go out tomorrow, since I already posted one review on the bookblog today and I can be really anal about posting twice in the same day. And because I'm a fan of free books, I've also started reading Kurt Reighley's United States of Americana, which is a nonfiction book intended for young adults, talking about how US culture (most North American culture, really) has recently experienced a "get back to our roots" surge. Right up my alley!

I think I might spend today uploading some of my older book reviews to Amazon, since I only started doing that very recently and haven't actually done anything with reviews older than 2 months.

I also regret to say that once more, Farmville has suckered me back in and I can't sgtop tending crops. I'd say I have better things to do with my time, but really, since playing Farmville takes up only half an hour of my day, and I'm still terribly unemployed, I really don't have much better to do...
