I do think that is changing. Slower, because while people might not approve of people transitioning from male to female or female to male, they can at least understand it in that it still preserves the illusion that there is male and female and that's it.

But just as there is growing awareness that intersex people shouldn't necessarily be forced into male or female, there is also growing awareness of genderqueer/agender people.
